Who We Help
Orphaned children who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS and other illness are finding hope in a WCF supported program in Maputo, Mozambique. Sibling families live together in small houses, constructed side-by-side, in a compound-like setting managed by program administrators. Other children with older siblings continue to occupy the dwelling they previously shared with their parents. All the children in the program have adult supervision and protection, receive psycho-social support, education, access to health care, prescriptions, and medicines, as well as food, meals and nutritional counseling. The program also supports orphaned children who have willing caregivers but lack resources to provide adequate food, education, and opportunity.
